Pelvic Health Hub FAQs

We understand that starting pelvic health physiotherapy can feel a little unfamiliar. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about what to expect, how telehealth works, and how we can support you on your pelvic health journey.

What do I need for my consultation?

For a  video consultation, you will need a secure internet connection and a device with a camera. Prefer a phone telehealth consultation? All you need is access to a phone.

What conditions or symptoms can pelvic health hub help with?

You can find more information on conditions or symptoms we can help with here

Is telehealth physiotherapy just as helpful as face-to-face physiotherapy?

Yes. While we cannot perform an internal examination to assess the pelvic floor muscle, we can offer advice, exercises and strategies to manage pain and dysfunction. If a internal examination is required we will be able to refer you to an appropriate pelvic floor physiotherapist or specialist.

What is the difference between a 20 and 50 minute consultation?

The Quick Consultation is suitable if you want immediate, qualified help in managing your pelvic floor symptoms or conditions. Unlike the 20min, the 50min consult offers a deeper level of detail, assessment and tailored plan and is claimable with private health insurance or a GP Chronic Care Health Programs.

Can I book the follow-up consultation as my first appointment?

No. In order to claim private health insurance for a telehealth physiotherapy session, you will need to start with an initial consultation. Follow-up appointments can only be booked after your first appointment at Pelvic Health Hub.

Can I claim my appointment on private health, Medicare or DVA?

Yes. You can claim the Initial consultation or Follow Up consultation on private health extras (physiotherapy) or with a GP Chronic Care Health Program. You can use your GP Chronic Care Health Program for a Quick Consult.

Please note there are no concession rates, but we aim to keep our services accessible and affordable.  We are unable to process TAC or DVA claims for appointments at this stage.

Can I cancel my appointment?

Yes. If you cancel within 24 hours of an initial and follow-up consultation or four (4) hours within an Quick consultation, we may charge cancellation fees, which may be 50% or more of the Consultation Fees.

Can I book multiple Quick Consultations?

Yes, you can book multiple Quick Consultations over time, but we recommend considering an initial consultation. This helps us establish a solid foundation of your pelvic health symptoms and conditions, collect outcome measures, and provide you with the right strategies to support your progress over time.
